About The Teacher

ERICA BERG first trained in Grotowski-based work when she was 15, and was on Grotowski's farm and space in Wroclaw when she was 18.  She further studied with Steve Wangh at NYU's Experimental Theatre Wing, and later assisted him briefly and substituted his classes from time to time.  She has also taught workshops in New Mexico, Italy, Sweden, and New York; and has been a recurring Guest Artist at Naropa University's Contemporary Performance program, teaching Grotowski-based acting.  Her own work has been performed at New York Theatre Workshop, Dance Theater Workshop, HERE (where she was awarded a HARP residency), the Miranda Theatre, the Present Company's Theatorium, and at the Edinburgh Festival.  She has performed in three Martha Clarke productions, various plays in NYC, and can be seen in feature films Synecdoche, New York; Little Children; The Savages; Baby Mama; Trainwreck; and the upcoming Please Give.
